Who is Jesus?
Lesson 8: Jesus is God's Son

Objective: The students will be able to state that Jesus was sent to lead us to God, and that we learn about Jesus and His teachings in the Gospels.
Lesson 9: Jesus taught us that God is our Father

Objective: The students will be able to state that Jesus taught us to call God, "Father," and that God loves us and will take care of us.

Objective: The students will be able to state Jesus' most important lesson teaches us to love one another.
Lesson 11: Jesus Taught Us to Ask Forgiveness

Objective: The students will learn the story of the Prodigal Son and be able to state that when we sin, we are to ask forgiveness, and God will forgive us.

Objective: The students will be able to distinguish between "on purpose" and "by accident" and will be able to understand sin as hurting others on purpose. AND The students will be able to state that God will forgive them when they have sinned. AND the students will be able to respond “I forgive you” when asked, “What should you say when someone has hurt you?”

Objective: The students will be able to define “saint”as one who did God’s work, was holy or was close to God. They will be able to say when asked that the saints worship God with us.
Lesson 17: God’s Family Sings Psalms

Objective: The students will be able to state that David loved God and showed his love to God by writing songs called Psalms.

Objective: The students will learn about and appreciate the role of the priest as “Father” in the Church family.

Lesson 21: We Receive Holy Communion

Objective: The students will be able to state Jesus’ words at the Last Supper: “This is my Body; this is my Blood.” They will learn that when we receive Holy Communion, we are joined to Jesus and one another.

Lesson 23: The Nativity of Our Lord

Objective: The students will be able to state that the Feast of the Nativity celebrates the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ and that we give gifts to each other because God gave us His Son.

Objective: The students will be able to state when asked that the name of the feast that recalls Jesus’ baptism is Theophany. They will be able to state, when asked, that the Trinity was revealed at Theophany.

Objective: The students will be able to state that the Great Fast is 40 days long and state two of the following: during those 40 days we pray, go to church, fast, give to others, and treat others with kindness more than during the rest of the year.
